Griante - Cadenabbia


Griante is one of the most well known towns on Lake Como and and since the end of the 18th century one of British tourists' favourite holiday resorts. In fact in 1891 an English church was built, the first in Italy. Cadenabbias beautiful sumptuous villas have hosted many important visitors over the centuries like Queen Victoria, Giuseppe Verdi and the German Chancellor Adenauer. The town is divided in two parts: Cadenabbia on the lake and above the historic centre of Griante which you can reach along a scenic cobble stone steps. The town is situated right in front of the peninsula of Bellagio with the massive rocky Grigna mountains on the back ground. The walk to the  Sanctuary of S.
